Acclaimed folk band announce date at Lancashire venue

The band is scheduled to perform on Sunday, September 20, from 8pm to 10.30pm in a concert led by More Music Morecambe.

Excitement building for Light Up Lancaster as first installations announced

Light Up Lancaster will take place across the city during the first weekend of November, from Thursday, November 5 to Saturday, November 7.

Its return follows its most successful year yet in 2025, which attracted 91,500 visitors, 35 per cent more than the previous year.

So far, 14 artworks and installations have been announced for the new programme; however, more should be revealed over the next few weeks.

Pretty Lancashire village gears up for garden show and beer festival this weekend

Wrea Green Horticultural Show will take place on Saturday, September 5, from 9am, and other attractions in the village include a duck trail, a raffle, a Sunday family afternoon and a three-day beer festival.

The Wrea Green Show will take place in a special show marquee at the Wrea Green Institute in Station Road.

Blackburn businesses back calls for 90 minutes of free parking

The support comes as a national campaign urges the Government to introduce a standard 90-minute free parking period in town and city centres across the UK.
