New cancer therapy technology to benefit hundreds of patients in Preston

The new LED “showerhead” is only the second piece of equipment of its kind in the North West.

Its function is to counteract a painful side effect of cancer treatment through an LED technology boost.

The patients receiving this treatment are at the Rosemere Cancer Centre at the Royal Preston Hospital.

The centre is also home to the Rosemere Cancer Foundation charity that funded the equipment, which is being used to prevent and treat oral mucositis.

Motorcycle festival to bring classic bikes to Lancashire this month

The event will take place on Sunday, September 13, at Pilling Village Hall on the Wyre.

Number plate cameras to be installed at 16 Lancashire recycling centres

The aim of these cameras is to ensure that businesses are not misusing the recycling centres' facilities to dump their rubbish as well as save the public money long-term.

The new ANPR kit will be installed at each of the council's 16 tips, including Altham, Barnoldswick, Burnley, Clitheroe, Haslingden, and Longridge, in order to enforce the rules on who can use them.

Christ Church Apple Festival will take place at the local church on Wyresdale Road, Lancaster from 11am to 3pm.
